How to Refresh Respondus LockDown Browser in Chrome
To fix a Respondus LockDown Browser that won't load in Chrome, click the puzzle piece Extension icon in the top-right corner, select LockDown Browser, and click Reload. If the page stays frozen, click "Click to Launch Assessment" on your test screen to manually open your exam.
If LockDown Browser is frozen, showing a blank screen, or failing to load your exam, refreshing the extension usually resolves the issue. Follow these steps to reload it.
Step 1: Reload the Extension
- Open your extensions
Chrome Browser- Click the Extension icon (the puzzle piece) in the top-right corner of your Chrome browser window.
- Select LockDown Browser
Extension Menu- Locate and click on the LockDown Browser Extension from the dropdown list.
- Reload the page
Refresh- Click the Reload button within the extension menu.
Step 2: Relaunch Your Exam (If Needed)
If your test screen does not update automatically after reloading:
- Look for the "Click to Launch Assessment" button on your main test screen.
- Click the button to manually push the exam to launch.
Pro Tip: If the extension still fails to load after a refresh, clear your Chrome browser cache or check for any pending Chrome updates, then restart your browser.
