Troubleshooting: Parent Not Able to See Updated Grades in Canvas
If you cannot see your child's updated grades in the Canvas mobile app, you are likely logged into the wrong app. Parents must use the Canvas Parent App (Blue Logo) rather than the Canvas Student App (Red Logo). To fix this, delete the red app, download the blue Canvas Parent app from your app store, search for Foundation Academy, and log in with your parent credentials.
If you are logged into the Canvas app on your mobile device but are unable to see your child's updated grades or courses, the issue is usually caused by having the incorrect version of the application installed.
Canvas provides separate apps for students and parents. Observer (parent) accounts will not sync data or function properly inside the student version of the app.
Step 1: Check Your App Color
Take a look at the Canvas icon on your device's home screen to see which version you are using:
| Incorrect: Canvas Student App (Red Logo) | Correct: Canvas Parent App (Blue Logo) |
Step 2: Download the Correct App
If you have the Red icon, you will need to switch to the parent version to view updated grades.
Step 1: Delete or remove the Canvas Student App (Red icon) from your device.
Step 2: Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and search for Canvas Parent.
Step 3: Download the app with the Blue icon.
Step 4: Open the app, search for Foundation Academy, and log in using your parent observer credentials. Your student's updated grades should now sync correctly.
