UniFi Controller Reboot Process (Plant & Tilden)
Follow the steps below to reboot the UniFi controller:
Remote into FAS-VM2 using your Microsoft AD Credentials - IP Address 172.17.3.5
Once remotely in the VM2, you'll need to run Hyper-V - You can search for it - should look like the image below - I'd recommend Pinning it to your task bar.
Once running, you'll need to click on FAS-VM2 on the left side of the window - this will open up the Hyper-V to show all servers active or inactive on that VM.
Select "4.FAS-UniFi" - right click and select "Shut Down" - Do not select "Turn Off" unless the server is unresponsive as this is the equivalent of unplugging the device.
Once the device shows as offline - You'll then double click on the 4. FAS-UniFi
This will open a small black window with the option for "Start" in the center of the screen - select start
Once you've selected start, and the device has successfully rebooted, you may log into the server.
it is pivotal that you log in with the administrator credentials and not your personally assigned credentials.
Once you've logged in using the administrator credentials, you will look on the desk top for a UniFi icon that resembles as UniFi AP.
Once you've run the app, a small window will pop up in the bottom right of the screen - This app will run until it has successfully launched. Below is a picture of what a successful launch looks like:
Now you can access the UniFi controller on the server itself by selecting the button in the bottom right of that pop-up - or you can now access the UniFi controller directly through the IP address in most browsers: 172.17.1.2:8443
KEY - Login with Admin credentials - do not sign out of the server - simply close the window for the server when you're done.
