UniFi VPN-Static Route Reset (Lakeside)
To reset the VPN connection to Lakeside, follow the steps below:
Go to unifi.ui.com and login with your given credentials - If you need credentials to login to this console please contact the System Administrator or the IT Director.
Look for the FAL-UDMP and select the white disc below it that resembles a UniFi AP. This is the network application within the controller.
Once you've selected the Network button it should take you to the default dashboard for the UDMP - turn your attention to the left of the screen and select the gear shaped icon.
Once the gear is selected you'll need to look for the option on the left labeled "Routing"
Once you've selected routing, you'll want to look to the top right corner for an option called "Static Routes"
Here you'll find two routes. To reset them, you'll need to select the "Manage" button to the right of the screen. Once selected, check boxes will appear next to both static routes. Check both, then select pause, then select done. Refresh the page and wait 10 seconds, then repeat the step of checking the boxes, select resume, then select done. Once finished with pausing and resuming, please make sure you select done.
Now that the Static Routes are established, on the left side of the screen select the option "Teleport & VPN"
After you've selected the Teleport and VPN button, now direct your attention to the top right corner for a tab called "Site-to-Site VPN" and select it
Here you'll find two configured VPNs. To reset them, you'll need to select the "Manage" button to the right of the screen like before. Once selected, check boxes will appear next to both static routes. Check both, then select pause, then select done. Refresh the page and wait 10 seconds, then repeat the step of checking the boxes, select resume, then select done. Once finished with pausing and resuming, please make sure you select done.
Once completed you may log out of the console. To test and make sure your reset worked, open "Terminal" on your device and ping firewall or DNS on each campus.
For reference, the DNS for Tilden is 172.17.3.2
And the DNS for Plant is 172.16.2.51
If you were successful, you'll receive the ping and the time it took to successfully get there and back. If the ping failed, you'll get a timed out notice, and may need to start from the top, or trouble shoot for other potential issues.
KEYS: Remember to check the boxes for the specific VPN that is failing and select done after every change otherwise the change may not actually take effect.
