Troubleshooting: Clever to Renaissance Login & Material Issues

When students encounter issues syncing or accessing Renaissance Place via the Clever Portal, it is usually caused by incorrect credentials linked inside Clever or a duplicate account enrollment error.

Issue 1: Student is Logging Into the Wrong Account

If a student clicks Renaissance in Clever but lands in an incorrect or blank account, follow these steps to map the correct credentials.

Step 1: Look up and copy the student’s correct login credentials directly from the Renaissance Admin dashboard.

Step 2: Open a fresh Incognito/Private browser window (this ensures your admin session doesn't interfere with the test).

Step 3: Log in to Clever as a District Administrator and search for the student.

Step 4: Navigate to Support Tools, select Access portal as user, and click Start portal session.

Step 5: Click on the Renaissance Place app icon. When prompted, select Update Login and input the correct Renaissance credentials found in Step 1, then click Save.

Step 6: Close the incognito window and test the student's account on a standard browser to confirm they now auto-log into the correct profile.

Issue 2: Student is Missing Assigned Materials/Classes

If a student can log in but cannot see their assigned materials, assignments, or courses, they are likely missing from the class roster or have a duplicate profile.

Step 1: Open the student's profile in Renaissance and click on the Enrollment tab. Verify they are enrolled in the correct class. If missing, update their enrollment manually.

Step 2: If the enrollment looks correct but they still see nothing, check for a duplicate student account within Renaissance Admin.

Step 3: To identify which duplicate profile Clever is actively trying to talk to, follow Steps 2 through 6 from Issue 1 above using an Incognito window.

Step 4: Once you identify the active Clever-linked profile, ensure that specific profile has the correct class enrollment updated in Renaissance.

Step 5: Delete or merge the unlinked duplicate student profile from Renaissance Admin to prevent future sync confusion.
